Radiation Protection Shielding
Beta emissions of 32P, 35S, 3H
and 14C can be effectively blocked by 10mm thick optical
acrylic. All Jencons Beta shielding is manufactured from heavy
gauge 10mm thick acrylic.
Where shielding is required for protection against
Gamma emissions of [125I] Iodine and other Gamma emitters
of lesser energy, a 12mm thick lead acrylic is required. This is
the heavy gauge lead acrylic Jencons uses for its Gamma shielding
products.
Contaminated Pipette Tip Boxes
Available in clear acrylic for [32P]
Beta emissions and lead impregnated acrylic for Gamma [125I]
iodine emissions. Designed with hinged lid and tip port with small
hinged lid for safe disposal of pipette tips. Models are available
for single or multi-tip disposal.

Safety Notice
Lead acrylic is meant for [125I] and related
Gamma blockage only. When Beta emitting particles such as
[32P] or [35S] are exposed to heavy
metals such as lead, dangerous Bremstrahlung X-rays are produced.
